Pregnancy & Motherhood

Pregnancy, birth and parenting bring enormous physical and emotional changes.

Daily activities such as carrying a baby, breastfeeding, cooking, washing, pushing a stroller, lifting a toddler, or simply getting through an exhausting day can involve a great deal of strain and unnecessary effort.

As a mother of two children who experienced two natural births, I use the principles of the Alexander Technique every day — not only in movement, but also in the emotional and mental aspects of parenting: pausing before reacting, making decisions, setting boundaries, communicating, and finding more balance within everyday family life.

The Alexander Technique can support you throughout the entire journey: from pregnancy, through childbirth, into motherhood, carrying and caring for your child, and navigating the challenges of daily family life. You can learn to move, respond, and care for yourself and for your child with greater ease, awareness, and harmony in your body.

The Alexander Technique is a body-mind educational approach developed by F. M. Alexander. Through gentle hands-on guidance and dialogue, you learn to use your body more efficiently and naturally, reducing unnecessary strain and improving coordination, balance, and overall well-being.

Lessons can address real everyday activities with your child present, including carrying, breastfeeding, walking with a stroller, sitting, lying down, and more.

What can you learn?

  • A new approach to reducing tension in your body

  • Improve your awareness, movement, balance and coordination

  • Practical tools for carrying, sitting, breastfeeding, walking, lifting, and daily activities

  • More ease and support in your body during pregnancy and parenting

  • A calmer and clearer way to respond to stress

  • A fresh mindset for dealing with life’s challenges

  • And more!

Who is this for?

  • Pregnant women

  • Mothers with babies or toddlers

  • Parents experiencing back, neck, shoulder, or muscular pain

  • Anyone feeling physically exhausted, tense, or emotionally overwhelmed

Both mothers and fathers are welcome.

You are welcome to come with your baby or child.

About Me

I am a certified Alexander Technique teacher, a musician, and a mother of two children.

Learning and practicing the principles of the Alexander Technique has helped me relieve pain and muscular tension, improve my emotional well-being, and develop a clearer and calmer mindset that supports every area of my life.

The technique supported me throughout my pregnancies and two natural births, and continues to support me every day in motherhood and in moving through life with greater ease and balance.

Learning the Alexander Technique in a group can be a very enriching experience and a lot of fun. This is how I learned it myself.

The Alexander Technique can support you in surprising places — including your own environment.

What if performing could feel easier?

The way we think and move plays an important role in making things either easier or more difficult for ourselves.

You are sitting in front of the computer, feeling tension in your lower back and tightness in your neck.

You glance at the clock again — when is the lunch break?
